Record
The House of Fabergé made the Pansy Egg as an Imperial Easter egg in 1899. Nicholas II of Russia commissioned the egg as an Easter gift. The egg was presented to Maria Feodorovna for Easter in 1899. The Imperial egg was made by Fabergé in Saint Petersburg (renamed Petrograd in 1914). The Fabergé Research location table recorded this egg in a private collection without naming the owner. The cited location record does not name the private owner, so no current owner is identified here. The documented connections used for this entry are the House of Fabergé as maker, Nicholas II of Russia as commissioner, Maria Feodorovna as recipient, and Saint Petersburg as the place of manufacture.
