Record

CoroCoro Comic awarded the Pikachu Illustrator card to winners of its 1998 illustration contests; fewer than 40 are believed to exist, and it is the only Pokémon card titled 'Illustrator'. Logan Paul bought this PSA 10 copy for about $5.27 million, then a record for a Pokémon card. He consigned it to Goldin, whose auction ran for 41 days and closed on 16 February 2026 at $16,492,000 including buyer's premium, recognised by Guinness World Records as the most expensive trading card sold at auction. Press reports name the buyer as the investor AJ Scaramucci.
